Boulder County has introduced three new grant programs to advance nature-based climate solutions, aiming to boost soil health, green urban areas, and build a more resilient local food system.
The Soil Health Initiative offers up to $660,000 in grants for farmers and ranchers focused on regenerative practices, supporting projects that meet USDA soil health standards.
Local food businesses play a key role, contributing through partnerships and customer-driven support to regenerative farms.
The Grey to Green Fund dedicates $100,000 to transforming hard city surfaces—like parking lots—into green spaces, from rain gardens to micro-forests, with municipal and nonprofit applicants eligible for awards up to $50,000.
Meanwhile, the Sustainable Food and Agriculture Fund invests $50,000 toward projects enhancing the county’s food infrastructure and supporting farmworkers.
These initiatives reflect Boulder County’s ongoing commitment to climate resilience and community well-being.
